I think knowing how many students are applying
for the top 30 universities would be an interesting number.
A first rough estimate would be 30*400= 12000 but
probably it is very far from the reality because there
should be too many intersections.
For example one could say If I scored 92% at
GRE subject 8\100*12000= 960 have higher score
than me.
How many students applying?
Re: How many students applying?
According to the "GRE Guide to the Use of Scores", 12,762 people took the GRE Mathematics subject test between July 2008 and June 2011. So, you could say 4254 a year. So roughly 340 people have a higher score than you(give or take a few due to different number of test takers in different years and because of multiple test takers).
