GRE Math Subject 28 october
Tomorrow I am going to take GRE Math subject. I think that I am not alone who is going to do that.
Are there anybody else?

Do we have different tests depending on the countries or just time zone ranges? Or maybe even we have different tests in the same country/city/test centre/room?junglemath wrote:Which country are you in?rfz wrote:Hi guys! Right now i have done with test. Was quite hard))
Re: GRE Math Subject 28 october
Difficult exam, especially under the time pressure pretty sure I'm getting about 20 incorrect.
What has been the curve as of late?

What can one expect with a raw score of somewhere between 40 and 46 at best?Junaid456 wrote:Difficult exam, especially under the time pressure pretty sure I'm getting about 20 incorrect.

Re: GRE Math Subject 28 october
I took the test today and I am happy I experienced this much talked about test.
My preparation was nothing to write home about (I had a one month long prep. No, 25 days to be specific). I did not really impress myself during the test. I guessed a lot. What left me terribly disappointed in my self was a 100-level problem on coordinate geometry I did not solve. I fought hard to remember the way to crack it. I tried to work around it but it ended up in a mess. I remembered the way to solve it when I was on board a bus en route my home and felt terrible the more. I am still having a hard time leaving that behind me.
Before the test, I felt I could score 850+. Now, I think it will be a miracle (and something that will put a smile on my face) to score 750+.

Same here with the geometry problem! Time pressure and bad organization ruined me. There were some difficult questions, but, in hindsight, I should have gotten some 10-15 problems correct which I know I have wrong.Mr Prof wrote:I took the test today and I am happy I experienced this much talked about test.

Overall, I'd say I felt a lot more comfortable with this test compared to September -- it seemed easier to me. Anybody else who took the September test, how would you compare it?

Is this because this was your second time taking the test? This was my first time taking the test. Even though I didn't run out of time, I felt the pressure of time caught up to me causing me to make all types of errors: silly + conceptual.
Re: GRE Math Subject 28 october
Yeah, seeing it more than once I think is already an advantage. I was able to manage time better this time around. Also, I think the questions were a little bit more up my alley so it really helped.Junaid456 wrote:Hi,Peregrine wrote:Overall, I'd say I felt a lot more comfortable with this test compared to September -- it seemed easier to me. I took September's test. This one felt much harder. I almost certainly did worse on this one.Peregrine wrote:Overall, I'd say I felt a lot more comfortable with this test compared to September -- it seemed easier to me. Anybody else who took the September test, how would you compare it?

Re: GRE Math Subject 28 october
I took the September exam as well, and felt as though this one was easier! I hope my score reflects that, but I think it will. I cut the number of completely random guesses about in half, from about 18 in September to only 9 on this exam!
Re: GRE Math Subject 28 october
I think this one is super very hard……the Sep one is a lot better.Peregrine wrote:Overall, I'd say I felt a lot more comfortable with this test compared to September -- it seemed easier to me. Anybody else who took the September test, how would you compare it?

Does anyone remember the percentages for the coronary disease question? I've been wanting to check my answer to that one but I can't remember the numbers. PM me please.
Re: GRE Math Subject 28 october
My friend said that he felt cnfident on 45, and that he had educated guesses on 12 or so, and he guessed on the rest.

Any questions that really stood out? What types of questions did you run into? Asking since I'm taking the April one and could use some review haha
Re: GRE Math Subject 28 october
I have solved about 46. And the remaining 20 I marked in random. Hope that i will get 750+. It will be great

Re: GRE Math Subject 28 october
Does anyone know if ETS or anyone else will ever release the exam and/or its solutions? I am incredibly anxious and it would really help if I just saw the test and knew around how many I got right.
Re: GRE Math Subject 28 october
Nobody will ever tell you anything, unless they do it as your friend, and very confidentially...
I wish that people would hpshare more, not the actual questions, but general comments, and maybe coments about their solutions. I haven’t taken it. I am a Math teacher, and was helping a coworker of mine get sharper.

Re: GRE Math Subject 28 october
That will not happen as lots of questions will be reused in future exams. What will probably happen is that years from now they will release an updated practice exam with questions based on exams from this period, i.e. when these questions have run their cycle and won't reappear.Bottomology wrote:Does anyone know if ETS or anyone else will ever release the exam and/or its solutions? Edit: Besides, I'm pretty sure no one can legally release information about the contents of each exam. There's a reason they have us write down and sign that we won't disclose the questions to anyone.
