Admissions and Funding

Post by alextang36 » Thu Feb 16, 2017 3:34 pm

Hello! I was wondering, in general, is the funding (such as GTAs, Fellowships) will come with the official acceptance letter (the one from the graduate school) or will be issued in a separated letter sent by the math department? Thank you!

I think it varies from school to school. My acceptance from Syracuse came with funding information included, but I've seen admissions profiles that got acceptances from schools with funding to be determined later.

I had a mix. For most schools, I was unofficially told that I was accepted at least one week before anything official came. Funding information only came with or after I got the official offer letter from the school.

Right, it could depend on schools. I got acceptance letter first and then received funding notification. Thanks guys!
