Well depends very much on many factors - but right off the bat
a) Do you have people who are in ur area for a PhD
b) how good ur school is

I would have to agree with joga. You want to go to a school where they have people you're interested in working with. As far as how strong your school is at your current interested field, I think if you're interested in working with people at your current school and are completely content/ happy with that decision, I see no problem in doing a PhD there. I once spoke to my advisor about a similar situation (attending same graduate school as undergraduate), and he said that there's nothing wrong with it. :D

I think it's good to go to as many places as possible for networking and learning new perspectives. However, if where you do your Masters is strong in your field and you are very happy there, it's not a big deal to stay, either.

Are you talking about a US Masters or a Masters in another country?
