Wisc-Madison vs Michigan-AnnArbor, Masters in alg-num theory

Post by stalemilk94 » Tue Mar 31, 2015 11:36 am

I have an offer from both these universities and want to focus on algebraic number theory. I plan on doing a PhD later and both the universities seem matched completely evenly. Does anyone have any inputs, I would like to have a challenging program that requires me to work hard to do well.

Can you tell me why you think UMich is better? Thanks for your input!

I think that they have more courses and seminars in AG and ANT. UMich is really algebraically well-equipped school. It will be easier for you to get better LORs too.
