Declining an already accepted offer?

Post by srop16 » Sun Apr 13, 2014 1:53 pm

How bad does it look when you decline an offer that you accepted already? I just heard back from a school today that is ranked higher than the school that I accepted the offer from and I am being offered much better funding. I am so confused about what to do! :?

Technically, you are allowed to withdraw your offer before April 15th. However -- this is not a very good thing to do and might look negatively on you, your recommendors or your school. Then again, it is allowed at this point and if the other school is a place you would much rather go to, you should maybe just go ahead and do it. Good luck on your decision!
