Funded Master's for Pure math?

Post by SomeMathGuy » Thu Nov 21, 2013 5:02 am

Sorry if this has been asked before, but it seems a bit hard to find the info. I've heard that UC Riverside tends to fund Master's students in Pure math, and I was wondering if anyone on here had an idea of universities that fund pure math master's. I'm specifically looking for schools in California, like UCs or Cal States (perhaps Cal Poly Pomona?)
Thanks for your time, and good luck on your future admissions

Cal Poly SLO's website seems to mention they offer a limited amount of TA positions. I have also heard UCR does the same.

Look into SFSU and SDSU. I know CSU Long Beach gives TAships of about $5K per semester but it doesn't include a tuition waiver.

I was admitted to University of Pennsylvania for a MA in Math. They don't really give any funding besides $5k per semester for TAing, which doesn't come close to covering tuition.
