Hi, I am currently in my 3rd year, doing B.Tech in Mechanical engineering from one of the top 10 engineering institutes in India. But I am interested in pure maths and want to do M.S. in it. Is it possible for me to do it?
Courses in maths that I've done are single and multivariant calculus, linear algebra, complex algebra, differential equations, probability and statistics, number theory and cryptography. I have also studied a bit of abstract algebra, real analysis, topology and graph theory on my own. I am also planning to take subject GRE in mathematics and I think I can score good in that. Is a good mathematics GRE score needed ( or enough ) to get admission in decent colleges in US for MS in maths? Or is a maths degree necessary for that?
Also if cant get admission in US can you suggest some good colleges in other countries to do MS in pure maths.
