NSF fellowship and waitlists

Post by betafj » Sun Mar 18, 2012 12:30 am

Would receiving an NSF research award have an impact on my admissions decisions? For example, would an NSF award help me get off of the waitlist at Stanford?

An NSF would get you off waitlists at Berkeley, Michigan and Austin but it won't impress Stanford. Speaking from experience...

The rainy dreary Open House might affect the yield rate in your favor though. Good luck!

Oh were you at the Open House? How many prospective students were there?
