Brown, UW-Madison, Duke

hi,

I'm an international applicant (PhD math) and I'd like to know how good these univ. are considered to be in the US. I had a look at US-News etc, but I'd appreciate your opinion especially if you are from the US.

You should say something about your mathematical interests because that will greatly change "how good" those universities are to you! In general I think UW-Madison > Brown > Duke but it's totally my two cents!

Speaking of applied math, Brown is easily in the top 10 in US
