Interviews

I know this is probably a stupid question, but do pure math PhD programs ask people to come for interviews? It seems like a lot of people have been getting acceptance letters without interviews, but when I talk to my friends from other disciplines they think the idea is crazy.

I'm just getting worried that I haven't heard back from any school about anything. No rejections, which is good, I guess, but this is...frustrating.

I've had 3 acceptances so far and no interviews, so I guess not!

From what I've heard schools that interview are pretty rare.

Pure math programs don't usually interview but many other disciplines do. That might be because pure math programs are set up differently. For example, in many science disciplines grad students are usually funded on the research grants of a research group, and the group might have a legitimate interest to talk to you before offering you money.
