Congrats! I got the same offer and just wanted to point out that the assistantship rises to $18,300 after passing the qualifying exams (according to the email), which can be done before completing all of your coursework.

True! meant to put rising to just over 18k, which I'll change now. How's your interest in Maryland?

It's a good enough school that I will probably consider it and may visit, but I've already gotten in to two of my top choices, so it's doubtful that I end up attending.

Have you had redbreast or green spot (same distiller)? Some of the best irish whiskeys. I'll be drinking that when I get my round of rejections. :]

Dude, I <3 RB 15. Can't think of a better drink for that occasion! Thankfully there's an awesome whiskey/cigar bar just a few minutes from my house. Hence, bad ideas always abound.

@renatamaria:
Did you get the decision from UCLA automatically, or did you ask them for your status? I emailed them a few days ago but haven't heard anything yet. I assume I'm on their reject list, though. Maybe they go through the rejections in alphabetical order? If that is the case, I may have to wait for a while...

I e-mailed UCLA as well and they have completely ignored me.

I also didn't get a rejection e-mail. If you're interested, visit the UCLA Grad application website. There's a decision status page. Mine still says no decision made.

I also got an email to check to UCLA website for my rejection. It was retarded because I had to put in username, click continue, type in pw, click continue, click my term, click continue, then click continue for some other reason. I had to go through like 4 different windows just to get my rejection. See you in hell, UCLA.

Yeah, you'd think they could at least give us the courtesy of sending the rejections directly to our email accounts (and sending them to all of their applicants on the same day). Oh well. I just want this whole process to be over--for my sanity's sake I should probably just stop checking my email for the next two weeks or so. Maybe all of my results will be in by then.

@zoe: I didn't email them. One was waiting for me just ahead of my first cup of coffee this morning.

@deckoff: I had the same reaction. Like four anti-climaxes before an expected (but still disappointing) rejection.

I'm in the same boat: No rejection letter (yet), emailed them an inquiry about my application status, no response as of yet.

I am hoping against hope that we're on their wait list.

On a side note, apparently one of my profs didn't send in his letter of rec. for UIC as of last Wednesday. I tried to get a hold of UIC today to see if they now have it - no response yet. I'm trying to take this in stride, but it's a little annoying as I thought that one was within reach for me...
