Schools that don't require the Subject Test (but do require General as far as I know): Michigan State Purdue Washington State Iowa State Tennesee - Knoxville Notre Dame Syracuse Minnesota Missouri Western Michigan Stony Brook Idaho NC State Arizona State Virginia Tech Iowa Kansas Nebraska - Lincoln Florida State Kentucky Oklahoma Lehigh Vermont Cincinnati New Hampshire Wyoming
The only school I know of that also doesn't require the General GRE is George Mason.

But they strongly recommend it. And when a school "strongly recommends" something, it is in your best interest to do it. They say that they accept students without GRE on rare occasions, but imo, rare = extremely rare and special cases when it comes to the top schools.
If you are doing applied, typically only some of the top schools (Washington, NYU, etc) will ask for subject GRE, most will ask for general. UNH did not ask for either.
