I notice that you have been admitted by some better programs, like Wisconsin, Northwestern etc. Congratulations for that. So does this mean that you would choose Purdue instead of the others provided you were admitted by Purdue? No offense, just curiosity. Right now I have no any offer yet. Very reluctant to gap a year. Btw, would you please to tell me as you get response from Purdue? Thanks in advanced.nothing wrote:Same question. I really like the program at Purdue. I am wodering if any international students got admitted to Purdue yet ?Jayden wrote:
- i) Has any international applicant received admission from Purdue? It is one of my top choice.
- ii) And is there any one been interviewed by Stony Brook? I heard that normally Stony Brook will have an interview around early February at applicant's home country. But I have not receive any response on that. So I guess I don't even have the choice.
- Still wait for my first offer. Very panic.
Purdue has some specific people I want to work with. The only school in my list which is better than Purdue is Wisconsin but I will probably decline Wisconsin if they give 15k TA-ship like 2 years ago.Jayden wrote:I notice that you have been admitted by some better programs, like Wisconsin, Northwestern etc. Congratulations for that. Did you contact Michigan about waitlists?thecaffeinemachine wrote:People who are sure they won't go to UMichigan (due to better offers), can you please withdraw your applications?
I emailed Madison and was told: “the final decision of your application has not been made.” Personally I would interpret it as being waitlisted.hooruru1995 wrote:For those who are waitlisted in Utah and UW Madison, did you guys email them to inquire?
Haven't heard anything from Utah. As per grad cafe, the wait listed students got an email, and the rejected applicant's app status changed online. I haven't heard back and the status online is still the same. Should I be worried?ArtinWedderburn wrote:I emailed Madison and was told: “the final decision of your application has not been made.” Personally I would interpret it as being waitlisted.hooruru1995 wrote:For those who are waitlisted in Utah and UW Madison, did you guys email them to inquire?
I know someone who is waitlisted by Utah. I think he received an email. I am not sure.
I'm in the same situation for Madison, UIUC and Northwestern. Would totally love to hear back from them at some point.ArtinWedderburn wrote:I emailed Madison and was told: “the final decision of your application has not been made.” Personally I would interpret it as being waitlisted.hooruru1995 wrote:For those who are waitlisted in Utah and UW Madison, did you guys email them to inquire?

I just emailed UIUC and they told me decisions should be finalized before the end of this month.djysyed wrote:I'm in the same situation for Madison, UIUC and Northwestern. Thanks for your info. Still waiting for their announcement.I just emailed UIUC and they told me decisions should be finalized before the end of this month.
Strange, last week I was told by the end of this week. Looks like students aren't the only ones trying to beat deadlines.FreddieBiddleBooty wrote: I just emailed UIUC and they told me decisions should be finalized before the end of this month.
I received an unofficial offer from Syracuse yesterday. It's an email from the department and it seems like they don't post result on the website.Jayden wrote:Any body knows where to check the admission status of Indiana and Syracuse? Seems there is no post submitted webpage like the others.
Congratulations! And thanks for the reply.chrono wrote:I received an unofficial offer from Syracuse yesterday. Waiting to hear back from NU. Someone above said that they already sent out all admissions offers.yon3da wrote:Has anyone contacted the grad departments at Northwestern or Cornell?
I emailed Cornell yesterday. They responded that there is a "very long waitlist". I got no information other than that. Still waiting to hear back from Northwestern as well.djysyed wrote:Waiting to hear back from NU. Just got the rejection from Madison...
I believe all of them are finished with admissions. There is a thread on here regarding Yale vs. Caltech.Musicbears wrote:Has anyone heard back from berkley, Stanford or Caltech?
Stanford and Caltech are done. Berkeley is still ongoing, but they are mostly done.Musicbears wrote:Has anyone heard back from berkley, Stanford or Caltech?
Should I send them an email asking about my status? If so how should I word it without sounding arrogant or annoyingRise wrote:Stanford and Caltech are done. Berkeley is still ongoing, but they are mostly done.Musicbears wrote:Has anyone heard back from berkley, Stanford or Caltech?
I don't think there's a way to email them about it without sounding annonying at this point in time. It's likely better to ask in around March. If you do want to ask early, I would suggest acknowledging and respecting that the committee is still busy with applications.Musicbears wrote:Should I send them an email asking about my status? Just be careful doing this. I emailed Oregon State and the grad chair seemed annoyed. However, I apologized and he said he understood and it's no problem. But I have also emailed a couple other schools and they were really nice about it. So it's a hit or miss.Musicbears wrote:Should I send them an email asking about my status? Keep us posted!djysyed wrote:I emailed Berkeley and Northwestern yesterday and said something like this:
"Other applicants have mentioned that Berkeley has completed their admissions process so I was interested in knowing if this is true."
