I have verified your solution to be correct.
I understand the motivation for the tan u substitution, but what lead you to the pi/4 - u substitution? Just curious.

My motivation was that I could use the tan(a-b) identity, to split up the natural logarithm because it would make the interior into a quotient so I could break it up. If this doesn't answer your question, please let me know.
