Admissions Style

Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone knew historically how each school tends to send out their admissions results. So, for example, MIT sends out acceptances and rejections in batches (sorry to salt the Valentine's Day wound for you recently fallen lovebirds), some schools like Princeton (I think) have departments which post the short list of admitted and waitlisted, and a bunch of schools sporadically send out results to individual people. Would anyone be able to what I hope will become a compiled list of school admissions styles?

Great idea Foobanana! If people post their observations, perhaps you can compile the info into your original post?

I'll start:
UC Berkeley - batches, with a first batch of acceptances and a batch of rejections about a week later.
UIC (University of Illinois at Chicago) - sporadic. As of today, only 3 results on gradcafe, spread out over the past week.
University of Oregon (pure) - batches. Looks like they've sent out a first wave of acceptances, and might not send rejections/waitlists until mid-March.
UW (pure) - batches, with a round of acceptances and rejections at the same time mid-Jan.

These probably vary per year so I wouldn't rely on them too much. But at least for this year:

Princeton - Sent acceptances, rejections and waitlists on the same day
MIT - Probably accepted people sporadically, but sent all rejections on the same day
Chicago - Sent acceptances and rejections in batches, rejections two weeks after acceptances

If you mean University of Washington, I have not heard back. I did apply for PhD, not masters, though

With respect to this, I got rejected from U Oregon, but this was probably only in response to the email sent them letting them know I was starting to get offers from other schools, so I just heard about my inevitable rejection sooner rather than later :)

Yeah, that's what it sounded like :)

Ah okay, good to know, I've updated my post. (Good luck!)
