Cluttering the 2017 Admissions Thread

I'm noticing that people are posting comments and congratulations in the 2017 Applicant Profiles and Admissions Results thread. When people make a comment and quote an entire profile it takes up a lot of space and duplicates information.

In past years people posted all the comments and questions in the sweat thread, and only profiles in the profile thread. I think this made it a lot easier to read the profile thread, since you don't have to sort through pages of comments of out of date quotes (since the quotes won't update as users update their profiles).

This is all just my opinion, but I think that it would be better to restrict posts in that thread to profiles only, and make all comments in sweat thread.

I respect and value your opinion.

This is why we have the Fall 2017 Sweat thread, but people don't seem to get the idea. Best take all discussion to that thread as the 2017 apps / admissions thread is almost purely for information like you said.

I edited my initial post creating the thread to link to the Fall 2017 Sweat Thread. Hope it helps!

Wondering is there a way to move (or remove) those comments in the admissions thread?

Dude, who cares.
Just ignore them.

Nobody's forcing you to care. Can you stop being condescending and generally unpleasant?

I can't tell if you are intentionally trolling this website or if you're just inconsiderate in general. Almost every comment you make is either insensitive, arrogant, condescending, or misleading. This is a small community, and it really doesn't need comments like these.

The most recent discussion on the thread is pretty disgusting.

I've messaged verysweetjuices asking him to delete his comments. If he follows suit, I ask those who've replied to do the same.

Thank you for taking the initiative. We should be working to make the mathematics community more inclusive, rather than alienating mathematicians for personal things that we may not understand. Those posts should be removed.

On February 13, 2017, it was brought to my attention that a lot of comments were being posted in the "2017 Applicant Profiles and Admissions Results" topic so I created a new topic called "Comments moved out of the 2017 Applicant Profiles and Admissions Results" and moved a bunch of posts into that topic.

Thank you, I'm glad that the majority of the people here seem to care about creating an inclusive community. I was unsure about whether or not to respond to verysweetjuices's original comment. I thought that perhaps replying would cause them to reevaluate whether or not their question was appropriate, but apparently all I ended up achieving was feeding a troll...

Anyways, at least the admissions thread got cleaned up.
