I have a phone interview coming up with one of the UC's. Does anyone have any experience with interviews (for math grad school, of course)? Do you know what kinds of questions might be asked?

I also got a message today about a phone interview for a UC. It feels great to hear something back so soon! What a relief!

Don't have anything very helpful to add... I just googled for "grad admission interviews" to review some basic questions. Maybe search for general interview questions, too. I also wrote down some questions of my own.

I visited some schools already and I have to say, it can get a little repetitive. The more specific topics and questions you can generate, the better.

hi! thanks for the response. i've been researching online and found some useful info. it seems like most math programs don't interview, though, so i was sort of freaking out. good luck with yours!

You could ask the department whether the interview is about gauging preparedness for their program or fit for their program. That might determine the sorts of questions you're supposed to answer. By fit I mean they may be assessing your personality characteristics, research interests etc rather than math knowledge specifically.
