Let the anxiety begin. Hopefully the other December 15 schools start letting us know soon. Fingers crossed.

Alright, now I can officially justify all the sweat! One admission from UCLA on gradcafe as well.

I was scared for a second  : How could the results be out when the deadline was the 31st of December? But of course this post refers to the pure math department and not the statistics department.

Three more UCLA admits on gradcafe

There is a general patten of people's profile ADMITTED to UCLA this year:) All of them have top/near-top scores on the GRE Math Subject + a 3.9+ Undergrad GPA + verbal sections > 152 (not sure if this actually matters). Same case for a guy admitted to U.Chicago.

Just out of my curiosity, how did you know this info?

Hover the mouse over the red diamonds under the "Decision & Date" column on the GradCafe: http://thegradcafe.com/survey/index.php?q=math*
[Amended] Sorry, I did not exactly answer your question. There is a status column with the letters "A", "I", etc for "American" and "international".

All of the UCLA admissions seem to be Americans so I'm assuming I shouldn't be expecting anything yet as an International applicant either way. Still, isn't it pretty early compared to other years to send out admission results now?

Clearly, a lower bar for domestic applicants is set at OSU, especially in GRE Math:) OSU seems to care more about the regular GRE. The GRE Math score is too low for international, let alone other factors... Congrats to you, airrows!!

Some profiles didn't list whether they are American or not, but I remember one of them is International. U.Chicago's international admit this year has the same stats, and (I guess) some publications under their belts.

Thank you! I was new to grad cafe recently :)
I am afraid that U.Chicago has sent out its first-round offers, according to the amount of offers posted at the grad cafe and offers I heard from here and other countries.

The UCLA-admits I find on thegradcafe all state that they are American. Maybe I'm using the wrong filter or maybe you have a different source?

There is another admit from Ohio State on Grad Cafe, this one is different since it is today. Anybody knows what's going on?

Their admission deadline is December 15, so this is not strange. In fact, the Ohio State website says: "The graduate recruitment committee then reviews about 110 files in greater depth split over two rounds, one in mid January and another about a month later. This review typically leads to the admission of..." https://math.osu.edu/graduate/apply

I posted the result of U Chicago as an international student. One of my friend who is studying in U.S., but not an American, was also admitted, so I guess that the first round is over. I also applied for UCLA, but no answer yet.

I think recalling that last year, UCLA sent out admissions for American and International students at seperate times so as an international student, that's what I'm hoping is happening here as well.

I'm an international applicant to Ohio State University's pure math PhD programme. Do you think GRE Q: 170 V: 155 AWA: 3.5, MGRE: 880 is competitive enough for an international applicant to Ohio? I've always been worried that my verbal score is bit low for most colleges.

Via email. They ask me if I am still interested in Yale. I guess they know other schools have released some admission results.

I don't understand why people post admits on GradCafe without posting their stats. The information is practically useless to anyone, without stats.

I did so, just because it may be useful for others who applied for the same school to judge their status. I personally do not believe that numerical stats will be useful neither, especially for top schools whose applicants might be almost perfect in every aspect. The more important things, in my opinion, are recs and pubs but I cannot write details on gradcafe.

I haven't seen any rejections yet on gradcafe. Does that mean none of these schools have sent out rejections yet, or are people just not choosing to post their rejections on gradcafe?

Rejections are probably coming out in early to mid February. Some of these acceptances will decline their position and people next in line will get their offers instead, so its going to still be a while before we hear anything.

I've seen that some schools (Harvard, UCLA, Chicago) have given responses. Do they send decisions in a single batch? Should I be almost sure that I am not admitted if I receive nothing after this time?

I just received an offer from Yale, and GradCafe has been showing that people received offers at least as early as Jan 13. So it seems they do not send in batches.

Also I am told that as people decline their offers the schools send out more offers, so you shouldn't be sure that you are not admitted yet.
