Mathematics GRE

Hey everyone I need some advice. As you can tell from my topic I did not study for the test. I really want to get a masters in applied math and I know I have the capability to do it. Should I wait a year, study for the GRE and try it again? Not send my subject score to schools? Try to explain my score? Any and all advice would be helpful.

I would look for schools that don't require the subject test. I didn't do very well either and I will simply not submit the scores.

If you look on the applicant profile page for my post, many of the schools I listed do not require the subject test.

I'd say either apply only to US schools that do not require mGRE scores, or consider looking abroad. You usually don't get funded for a masters in Europe or former British colonies (Australia, NZ, etc.) but Canadian schools might. The tuition is cheaper too.

And really, I would not send this score to any school, even if they say it's recommended. Even if you justify it by saying you didn't study, I don't think that reflects too well on you. It shows you didn't take it seriously, which they might not like.

What are you guys doing for schools that "recommend" the subject test? Did not do well at all and since they only say it's recommended I am guessing that I am better off not sending it?
