Has anyone received an offer from Knoxville?

Post by Yuxun » Mon Mar 24, 2014 5:39 pm

So I have checked gradcafe.com, and apparently there are several people who are in the exact situation with me: getting admitted by University of Tennessee Knoxville, but with no word on funding.

I guess my question is, is there ANYONE receiving any TA from Knoxville? I am starting to feel like im never gonna get funding   which makes me so sad, since it is the school im counting on (I only applied three programs this year, with one admitted, one rejected and one pending.).

If anyone knows how to deal with situations like this, please offer me some advice! Many thanks!

Have you considered contacting the actual department rather than asking a bunch of people with no ties to it?

I did... I have been emailing them many times and got only one reply. They say they would make offers after March 10th.I also called and left a voice message. Again they did not reply to me. They were on spring break last week, so this week is probably the last change i would ever hear from them.

Well, call again and this time speak to a person. Even if you do get a reply here from someone who has received a TA from the same university, their situation doesn't apply to you. Seriously, if you want to attend and are worried about funding, call them. They probably didn't make offers to five hundred people, so that they would treat the admits like dirt when they call. Most likely, you'll get a full explanation and will be able to stop worrying and resorting to illogical means of resolving your issue.
