hey guys.....i wanted to ask if modules are there in our crude syllabus. I am giving it this november.

...what are modules, and what is this "crude syllabus" you speak of?

They arent on any practice test I've taken, nor are they in any review book I've read...so I'd say no.

kosuke: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Module_(mathematics)

They are important in algebraic geometry and representation theory and such.

Well that's nice. Let's hope that they won't be on the test this time too cause they are present in ets's description of the test topics.

well modules are ...............er modules...i studied in my MS so i do have an idea about it.....but thats it...just an idea

......and kosuke.....by crude syllabus i am taking a dig at ets.....this test in no way represents actual mathematics that a student is about to study in his MS or Phd.......but i have it this november and and its outright boring to even go through these stuff......wish admissions were made wholly on interviews.....
