Anyone doing anything cool for the summer? Are most people preparing for exams and studying math in general?

I might be doing a mini-course program down in New Mexico. I will also be tutoring and preparing for the placement exams at my school (I have to take an algebra and analysis exam right when I walk in the door).

I'm doing an REU (technically I'm a grad student assistant, but I think I'll be basically doing the same as the undergrads) and studying for quals.

I'd like to do an REU in the U.S. Does anybody know summer research programs in the U.S. for international students (I'm from Europe)? All the application deadlines have already passed I guess, but I could apply next year.

I'll probably just study for prelims, and play Dota 2. A nice chill way to transition into grad school.

It's been a year or so since I browsed through the list, but if my memory serves me right not a single of those programs is open to international, non-resident students.
