Northwestern ESAM thoughts

Hi all,

I got into the Engineering Sciences and Applied Mathematics program at Northwestern University and I really enjoyed my visit there and thought all the professors and current graduate students were very nice and doing interesting research. NRC has the program ranked fairly high, but US News doesn't rank it at all (although I'm not sure how much I trust US News).

What are your thoughts on Northwestern ESAM in general and would you consider it a top school in Applied Math?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Has anyone heard back from Northwestern ESAM yet? When I log in to check application status there is supposed to be a 'view decision' link when they have rendered a decision. Still no link. Which means they haven't made the decision yet or basically it's a no but aren't going to post the link to my decision.

I'm currently on the waitlist, and if you check thegradcafe.com, they sent out their first round of acceptances back in late January/early February. I was called by them recently and told that they hope to have all the waitlist decisions made by Monday. If you haven't heard from them yet, that may not be the best news. According to the grad cafe they have released some rejections via the website for this year though, so it's not all bad news for you.
