I realize it's a little late, but I was wondering if you guys could list some decent Applied Math Programs in the Northeastern part of the US.

My 2013 applicant profile is here: http://www.mathematicsgre.com/viewtopic ... 6132#p6132

Pertinent bits:
Undergrad Institution: Penn State
Major(s):Math, Physics
GPA: 3.4
Type of Student: Domestic Male

GRE Revised General Test:
Q: 162 (86%)
V: 163 (91%)
W: 4.0 (49%)

Research Interests: Scientific Computing \ mathematical programming, numerical analysis, modeling \ simulation, visualization, PDE's, signal processing.

What are some applied math programs that I should have considered in this part of the country? The few I've seen listed include:

- University of Rhode Island
- Boston University
- RPI
- Cornell

Any others?

Brown and Courant are top notch. Columbia is good too, Princeton's PACM is really focused.

I did consider those, but felt like they may have been too much a reach for me. Maybe I was too hasty?

Thanks for the suggestions! Keep 'em coming!

I would say BU has quite a good math program (with an applied math flavor). They have really good Dynamics and PDE.
