it is quite strange...at this time last year, a lot of top schools sent out the results

It's not as strange as you may think.... Last year MLK day, a holiday in the US, was on Jan 16, and decisions came out the following Monday- the 23rd. This year MLK day is the 21st. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a spate of letters tomorrow, then.

None for me. I sure was checking my inbox all day though.

Same here. Let's see what awaits for tomorrow.
We have received your test scores.
We have not yet run the program which matches GRE and TOEFL's to applicants' files. The process may take several more weeks to be completed. The APPLICATION STATUS page will be updated to reflect receipt of those scores when the program has run. If the program has not been run before the department begins to consider applications, your application will be reviewed using the test scores you entered on the application, along with any uploaded copies of your score reports.

A second and final round of admissions will be made in a few weeks."

That lone Columbia admit on TheGradCafe is somewhat unsettling, too. I'm curious if anyone here has heard back from Columbia?

Can't help but disagree. There are hardly any MIT decisions on the forum yet. Looking at last year's submissions to the forum, there were significantly more decisions posted with the first wave. I still believe that these few acceptances are either unofficial or were processed earlier. And to worry about a lone Columbia acceptance I think is a little silly![]()
It should be noted that this spring semester started later in the calendar than last year. And additionally, comparing last years acceptances to previous years (like f10,f11 etc), last years' first waves were abnormally early. So it's not crazy to expect the top schools to send out stuff a little later.
