Probably a stupid question: Duke University Application

Hello:

I have a small question regarding the application process at Duke University. If I understand correctly the graduate applications are run by the graduate school. Now, with respect to the Transcripts, the graduate school internet page asks for an electronically submitted transcript. However, in the math department page the following legend appears: "All application materials must be sent directly to the Graduate School at Duke. Please note that the GRE test scores can be at most 5 year old. Please plan your GRE test dates so that the scores will be reported in time for the January deadline!". Now this is probably a stupid question but I just want to get it out of the way: Does this mean that we have to mail our application materials to the Graduate school? The answer is probably no but I just get confused because they use the word "sent" instead of "submitted" which normally refers to uploading the app materials. Also the graduate school page specifically says not to send any material until after being admitted (if that is the case).
