Advice on writing a winning NSF GRFP proposal?

Post by rmg512 » Wed Oct 24, 2012 1:15 am

Hi,

I'm debating whether to apply for the NSFGRFP. It seems like I study abstract nonsense with little if any relevance to the real world, and I don't have much in the way of real results ( I've read a lot of articles, and in each of them I proved some results the authors left to the reader, but that's not really saying much), so I don't feel I can write anything really compelling. What should I do? And if I do apply, how should I frame my essays and proposal?

Thanks!
